Portland Art Museum: The Quest For Immortality – Treasures of Ancient Egypt

Running from Sunday, November 5, 2006 through Sunday, March 4, 2007, The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt is one exhibit you won’t want to miss. If you grew up in the 1960s like me, you watched old movies like “The Mummy” with Boris Karloff on TV. I wonder how many archaeologists around today watched The Mummy when they were kids? Hmmm. But I digress.

This particular exhibit features the largest selection of antiquities that have ever been loaned by Egypt for exhibition in North America. The reconstructed burial chamber of pharaoh Thutmose III will be number one on my list of things to see.
